Emma Chlumecky / Self-Portrait Study

Emma Chlumecky is a Canadian oil painter and fibre artist based in Windsor, Ontario. She received her Bachelor's of Fine Art from the University of Windsor, where she was awarded the Dennis. M. Knight award of excellence in Visual Arts. 

Through elements of magical realism, Emma's work serves as a preservation of personal moments and memories. Blending expressionist tendencies and subjectivity, Emma creates captivating narratives, inviting reflection on the beauty found in life's mundane moments. Combining reality and fantasy, Emma's practice is a heartfelt attempt to invoke reflections on the innate ability to see beauty in the absurd and particularly, the precarity of time and place.
